ThIstanbul & That

Hello good people!

First, I just want to thank all of my new followers for tuning into the blog – you rock! And of course, for those of you who have been following this blog for a while, I am most grateful 🙂

A few more pics of Istanbul, including the Basilica Cistern. Frankly, my photos don’t do this place justice because I had to use the flash in order to see the pillars. If you visit, you will see what I mean – it’s hauntingly beautiful and perhaps a wee bit creepy.

Istanbul: Hagia Sophia

Obviously, the first two pics have nothing to do with the Hagia Sophia but I thought I’d throw them in there for good measure.

The subway stations and other transit areas had some really great art – I should have taken more pics:

A few pics of the Hagia Sophia – the interior shots are so-so because the lighting wasn’t that great and I tried to avoid using a flash:

People Watching

I still haven’t made my way through all the photos I took in Turkey, but these are a few people shots that I like. I almost never shoot people (though I sometimes want to – ha ha ha!), favoring architecture over humans.

Can I take your money in exchange for a carpet?

And because cats are everywhere in Istanbul, I somehow managed to get a pic of this cat’s arse:
